NOMI 3D Configuratos

NOMI is an Australian furniture brand based in Sydney, built around a single mission: empowering architects, designers, and end users to fully customise furniture online, selecting dimensions, materials, and configurations in real time before a single piece is manufactured.
As a long-term collaborator, I have been responsible for developing the 3D parametric configurators for a wide range of NOMI's product catalogue including dressers, shelving units, chairs, tables, beds, and more. Each configurator is built in Grasshopper and deployed via ShapeDiver, making the models accessible directly through NOMI's platform on the cloud, with no local software required for the end user.
What sets this work apart is that the configurators go well beyond visual customisation. As a client selects their desired dimensions, materials, and finishes, the system simultaneously generates all the technical drawings and production documentation required to manufacture the piece in the factory. Design and fabrication are fully integrated, the customer's choices on the front end directly drive the production outputs on the back end. This pipeline eliminates manual drafting, reduces errors, and compresses the time between order and production making mass customisation at scale both viable and efficient.
