MAK Studio
2023 - Ongoing

māk studio is an American commercial design and fabrication studio based in Houston, Texas, specializing in architectural wood systems, parametric slat walls, custom ceilings, and interior solutions for corporate, aviation, and public spaces.
Since 2023, I have worked as the computational designer embedded within the studio, participating across all stages of the project lifecycle, from early client conversations and conceptual design through to full 3D development and production documentation. My core contribution was the development of the complete parametric system behind māk studio's signature architectural slat walls. Built in Grasshopper, the system takes high-level inputs such as width, height, depth, slat spacing, and other key parameters, and generates the full 3D model in real time. Beyond the visual output, the system also produces all 2D fabrication drawings for the factory, as well as the individual cutting sheets for each slat, fully resolved and production-ready. The joinery and assembly logic was also developed computationally, ensuring that every wall system is not only visually precise but structurally coherent and manufacturable within the studio's production workflow.
Several of these products are also available as online 3D configurators deployed via ShapeDiver, following the same integrated logic. Clients input their project parameters directly through the configurator, and the system responds by generating not only the live 3D model but also all the corresponding 2D documentation and cutting sheets, available instantly at the end of the configuration process. The result is an end-to-end pipeline: from a client brief to a parametric 3D model, to a complete set of fabrication documents, all driven by a single integrated computational system.
