HyperloopTT
2021 - Comissioned Concept

Feasibility study commissioned by Hyperloop TT and conducted by UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul), exploring a Hyperloop transportation system for the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The proposed terminal is located in Porto Alegre, at the current cargo airport site, a strategic choice given its adjacency to Aeroporto Salgado Filho, the largest airport in the state, enabling a much faster connection between the cities of the Serra Gaúcha region and the state capital.
The project combined architectural design, engineering analysis, and viability assessment, and was formally presented to the state government and to Hyperloop TT. The architectural vision was driven by an ambition to push beyond the conventional, to propose a landmark building that challenges the aesthetic standards typically seen in Brazilian infrastructure, demonstrating that bold, expressive architecture is not only possible but necessary for projects of this scale and significance.

Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul
As part of the architecture team, I led the full 3D modeling and visualization pipeline, translating the team's vision into renderings that communicated the proposal to stakeholders and the press. The project received significant media coverage across major outlets including Zero Hora and O Globo.
Parametric design played a central role in achieving this vision. I developed the terminal's roof and structural system through computational modeling, enabling complex, fluid geometries that would be difficult to conceive or refine through traditional methods. Beyond form, I designed the roof to actively respond to Porto Alegre's demanding climate, controlling natural light intake across seasons, moderating solar gain during the intense summer heat while allowing warmth during the cold winter months. This approach allowed the team to explore forms that are simultaneously structurally coherent, climatically responsive, and visually striking, giving the proposal a character that feels forward-looking and internationally competitive.
