Aroeira Hotel
2020 - Under Construction

A facade design project for the Aroeira 11 Hotel, located in Mariópolis, Paraná, developed in collaboration with Fenda Arquitetos. The challenge was to resolve a climatically intelligent facade system using ACM panels, where each individual module required a specific inclination angle to maximize solar gain during winter months while providing effective shading in summer.
Because every panel module carries a unique orientation, no two pieces of the facade cladding could be produced identically. This ruled out any standardized fabrication approach and demanded a fully parametric solution. I was brought in to develop the complete production documentation for the system, generating precise dimensional data for each individual panel, both horizontally and vertically, across the entire facade.
Using Rhino and Grasshopper, I resolved every module parametrically, with the geometry directly driving the fabrication outputs. I produced a comprehensive, production-ready documentation set that made a complex, non-repetitive facade system manufacturable at scale. I then tagged and identified each individual facade panel and sent the complete system to ArchiCAD for final documentation using Archicad Live Connection.
The rigorous solar study underpinning the facade's design was recognized with the 7th Saint-Gobain Sustainable Architecture Award.
